Blowing fuse's
I just bought a 99 cbr 600 f4, its in great condition. Im new at bike and it is my first one. It was running fine for about a week and I was driving on the highway and all my gauges shut off and all my electrical's shut off, the problem was my fuse that says H/light was blown, so I replaced it. went for a run today and the same fuse keeps blowing I replaced it 4 times today, it is only cheap to replace but very annoying to have to do it ever 10 mins. could anyone point me in the right direction to what the problem may be? I know nothing about engines and the stuff I just started. Thanks

Look for a spot in the wiring that has rubbed through and could be touching metal. Look for burned connectors and pins. Look for any wires that appear to be melted. Look at bulbs up front and running for a sign that its connecting power to the metal housing. You got a short somewhere....
Maybe yes, maybe no. Electrical can be very hard to spot/diagnose.
I would pull the fairings and seat and do a through visual (like Demon suggests).
Shops charge $35-$75 an hour to basically do the same thing.
The fuse that is blowing will tell you which wires you should be inspecting.
Look up the manual for your bike and download it. Check the wiring diagram for everything
that is on the same circuit as the fuse and follow from the fuse-block to all of the
components that are on that circuit. You're looking for frayed/melted/burnt/kinked
spots in the harness and or specific components.
Hope this helps, Ern

Might be a dumb solution but check to make sure you are installing the proper rated fuse. If you keep putting a 5amp fuse where you should have a 10amp fuse it might just keep blowing on you..best of luck....
I'm using the right fuses haha, the guy I bought the bike off changed the signal lights to his own moddified ones, that would probly be the problem maybe . But the problem only started after I took it to my buddies cabin had to drive on a dirt road for a short period of time and started after the dirt road thinking I knocked a wore lose or bumped it to make a Waite touch something gonna play around with it today see what's going on .. first time using this forum must say help came pretty quick. Will definitely be using the forum more from now on
