Default blinker problems

here is what i have here. i bought a set of led turn signals for the rear of my bike and the front already has led turn signals. after installing the the rear set i went to test them out and only the right side works, the left side will flash one time only and then nothing, you cant even here the flasher like you can on the other side. (let me also let it be known that the bike was dropped on the right side and the signals havent been turned on since the accident until i installed these led turn signals). does anyone know if the f4 has a seperate flasher for each side?

p.s if i take a test light and hook the clamp to the negative post and touch the lead to the positive wire of the blinker then the blinker works but if you take it off then it stops

Typically, when switching from incandescent bulbs to LED, you either have to switch the relay (recommended) or add resistors. What happens is that LEDs do not draw as much power as bulbs do, so the stock relay doesn't function properly. This leads to either hyper-flash (very fast blink rate), or no flash.
Assuming you wired everything up correctly, I'd advise you to change the OEM relay for an LED one. These can be found on eBay for around $20. Installation is as easy as removing the old one, and plugging in the new one.

Your test lamp is completing the circuit. Check all your wires, you may have a bad ground. No need for the relay, unless the fast blinking annoys you. Personally, I like it, I think it draws a little more attention.

where would you start checking first as far as where the grounds are? plus as mentioned before could it possibly be a flasher bad on one side? or is there a two way flasher

My bad... if one side blinks, then your flasher relay is not the problem. Both sides share the same relay. If you tested the connection terminals and it worked, then it's probably not your wires. Is it possible one of the turn signals is wired backwards? The rightside works, so it's got to be either of the two on the left.

I don't know about the F4, but on mine, the green wire is always the negative. Another thing to keep in mind is that the original front turn signals had a third wire which is for running lights (contantly on). Unless you have a three wire turn signal, you don't use that third wire. If you yourself didn't install the left signal, I'd have a look at it to see what kind of job the previous person did, and verify it's wired up correctly.

yes i tried wiring them differently and it still didnt work. but yes the negative is green. before i cut the stock harness off (when i bought the bike the rear turn signals were long gone) i tested to see what was negative and positive so its wired correctly but its like time i wired them up thats when all went wrong. once again as soon as i touch the positive wire of the signals and harness to the test light (which is grounded to the negative on the battery) the blinkers work
