Default bike keep dying

i have a 2001 honda cbr f4i around 22k miles.

this had happen to me three times. every time when i pull over to take a break i would just park it along the side and turn off my bike. after resting i would go start my bike but it wouldnt start. i heard it cracking for one or two time then everythign just died and the clock would go to 1:00am. what could be the problem? this really frustrate me.

My first thought would be you have a loose battery connection. the crackling noise you hear is the termials loosing connection and regaining it, which creates an arc, and that makes the noise. That, along with the fact your clock is resetting suggests it further. Check both ends of the main wires, the ones hooked to the battery, and the other end of the wire as well.

If the terminals are tight, remove them and clean the connecting surfaces with a scotchbrite pad or fine grit sand paper.

If that still doesnt help, take the battery and have it load tested. You may have shorted cell internally in the battery.

If thats not it.... check all connections, fuses and relays for proper tightness.
