Bike issues with the dealer WTF??
Well guys I was having a studdering/ bogging issue on my bike so I took it to westcoast powersports in the clearwater largo area(Florida). First off I took it to them 2 satudays ago. They told me the day before if I brought it in earlsy sat morning they would have it done at the end of the day. Well they didnt get it done sat. so I was like no biggie. They call me the following tues. and say they got the bike done but they accidentally dropped the tank and put a big scratch in it. So they said they were goin to have it fixed and re-painted. Once again I was like no big deal. Well they call me thurs. and say that they put the bike back together and took it for a test ride and the bike was back-firing(it wasnt doin that before). I call friday and he said that one of the float needes was slowly dripping into the carbs causing the backfire. The said they were goin to fix it and it would b done sat. So they call me sat. afternoon and say the bike is done. So im like about time I cant wait to ride. They said they test drove it and everythig was good. So I get there pay for it get on the bike and I dont even get a half a block from the bike shop and it spudders all to hell way worse than it did when I originally brought it to them. I took it rt back and told them it uis doin the same thing. He said ok we will take it back apart mon. Well it is now goin on wednesday and they havent even called me back or anything, my patience is wearing thin. I have been very nice up to this point. There customer service isnt very good there at all. What do u guys think I should do? Sat will b 3 weeks that they have had my bike

All I can say is you have alot more patients than I do. I would have made them replace the tank. Who knows if they even used the proper paint on your tank? For all you know, they bondo'd it up and threw a quick paint job on it without clear coat. I wouldnt be so pissed about the time, but the lack of care for your stuff would really **** me off.
There are very few dealerships out there that are worth bringing your bike to. most of them have young teenage kids that dont know anything and they are the ones wrenching on your bike. Trust me, they dont care if they scratch your stuff either. the only reason they even fixed your tank was it too obvious to let it go, otherwise they wouldn't have.
The sad fact is, you probably know more about bikes than the kids working on them at the dealerships do.
There are few dealerships that have good mechanics working for them, but not many. We should start a list of decent dealerships so we can have refference to some decent service. Unfortunately, I dont know of any to add to the list.
At this point, theres not much you can do. Your hands are tied. If it happens again, demand your money back and take it to another dealer. If they dont want to give you your money back, take it to another dealer and tell them its at their cost since they obvioulsy dont have the staff to fix it. Also, I would speak to the guy that is working on it. Dealerships will usually have one good mechanic and a few kids. Ask who was the one that actually did the work. It more than likely was one of the kids.

I'm sorry to hear the dealer is making you wait so long, I had a similar problem.
They kept putting me off and putting me off, after my bike had been at their shop for 2 weeks.
My advice is this: whenever I go to a shop to drop off my bike I make it clear that I want the bike done as soon as possible. I think shops categorize their customers in two ways:
-The customer who will complain and demand action if he or she isn't satisfied
-The passive customer who will not complain and will roll over if his or her bike is not ready.
Right off the bat, I gotta make it clear to the dealer or mechanic that I want my bike back ASAP.
If the shop asks me, "So, do you wanna wait here for your bike or come back after it's done? We'll call you."
If I have spare time, like it's my day off I will almost always try my hardest to sit and wait for my bike at the shop.
If they had told me my tank had been damaged, I would have seen a red flag and gone to the shop immediately or as soon as possible to see the bike with my own eyes.
I actually had to do that the last time, I showed up without warning and asked the mechanic to show me my bike. Thankfully it was in one piece and inside the garage.
But sadly, the only way I got the bike fixed and back in my hands was I had to drop the name of some powerful organization that I know. Then my bike was done that very day.
Good luck. Sorry so long.
