basic troubleshoot help?
Hi, im not sure if im posting this in the correct place, but ill try anyways. I just got my 900 RR two weeks ago and there is a slight noise/feel coming from around where the foot pegs are. Its tough for me to hear it cuz of the exhaust...but i can feel it in my feet. It isnt the motor, cuz i shut the bike off while coasting and it still happened....i just have no idea where to begin yet, my service manual i ordered isnt in yet....My chain seems to be adjusted correctly, according to a couple of friends with bike experience. it just feels kinda like some rotating part makes contact with something and makes kind of a thump...consistently. Any advice on what/where to check? Thanks in advance.

RE: basic troubleshoot help?
Get the bike in the air and rotate the wheels. Check the wheel bearings and axle. The axle is easy to check. Take it out and put it on a plate glass.

Have done the simplest thing of all? Check your tires for flat spots and uneven tread.

Thanks for the advice. I have since noticed that it is coming from the rear tire area. I dont think it is the tire itself, so ill check the axle and wheel bearing. Anything else to check? again im new with bikes but decently mechanically inclined so hopefully ill be able to save some money. thanks.
