start the bike and see what the charging output is to the battery at idle and 5k rpms.

 

I'm going to have my friend come over with his F3 later and bring his multimeter. I'll also take his R/R and see if that is where the problem is.

 

get your multimeter out and check your r/r for resistance and continuity to ground i think. If you are not cranking the bike that much the battery shouldnt die on you. Im on a different computer otherwise i would give you the specs. that should let you know about the r/r.

 

I grabbed my friend's r/r from his F3 and swapped it out. His was already some aftermarket one with heat sinks. Put it in and the voltage was back in the right range. With my current r/r the lights won't get brighter. With my friend's r/r the lights got brighter when I revved it.
