Aftermarket rectifier
 

Well my rectifier after 42k on the old f4 has finally died. I have been searching for a cheap oem(oxymoron right) replacement. 140 bucks plus what ever stupid amount they want for overnight shipping. i'm stuck in southern Kentucky. home about 4.5 hours. but i'm at a family members home, so i can get it shipped here. I have searched for responses to aftermarket rectifiers and i cant get consistent read on what is good. have had links that take me every wear. electrosport is a 50/50 gamble from the ppl here who have them. but every person buddy with a aftermarket rectifier loves it and doesnt seem to have a problem that they feel worth mentioning to the guy who is posting.

But it seems that there are only 2 generic ones out there beside electrosport.

All though i couldnt find any real difference internally it seem that the bottom one has a larger case with more fins. but the top one is always more expensive. why i dont know.

If any one can give there personal experence with these 2 rectifiers or with any aftermarket rectifier it would be greatly appappreciated.

Why do you want aftermarket? What's wrong w/ getting a new Honda factory rectifier w/a warranty as opposed to the "50/50 gamble" aftermarket rectifier?

Well here's my take on it....

My original OEM R/R lasted exactly 100k miles. Literally it crapped out right at 100,600 miles. Everybody said 'get an aftermarket one get an aftermarket one, it's way better than OEM". So I got an aftermarket one. 56k miles later it crapped out. So in my experience, the aftermarket ones don't have my numbers in their favor. I replaced it with an OEM one, now at 182,600 and have had no problems out of it

DAMN! i wish i rode as much as you dude u got so many miles under your belt. i have maybe 600 haha... got alot of catching up to do

and it seems like you might as well go with the OEM man... they have given more miles to more ppl

The ones on the F3s and F2s are junk. The lack of cooling is what cause them to fail. So an aftermarket one is an upgrade from this. First thing I noticed when I opened the seat on my F4i was how beefy it's stock r/r looked compared to my F3's.

If the r/r fails in my F4i, I'll replace it with OEM since it looks like Honda learned their lesson by 06 :p

You can't even get the SH633-12 rectifier anymore. Honda upgraded from the original F4 rectifier to the newer design. The SH633-12 was superseded w/ the 31600-MV4-010. It has the cooling fins & is better designed.
