96 cbr600 f3 bogs down at high rpm
Hey guys, my bike was working perfectly fine, then I went and messed with it...
I've been getting my bike ready for the new season, and it's needed a bit of TLC. I cleaned, adjusted and lubed the choke cable and the throttle cables because they were both sticking. The choke cable is a bit out of spec, there's still some slack in the cable when it's all the way shut, but I adjusted it the best I could.
Then I cleaned the air filter and checked the spark plugs, put everything back together and gave her a bath. When I took the bike out to test drive it, it would run fine until about 7,000rpm, then it would start to spit and sputter. It was running fine before I messed with it, so chances are it's something I did. I'm just not sure what.
I figured it may have been the gas tank breather hose got caught up again putting the tank back on, as that causes a similar issue and has happened before, but it was properly routed. I also suspect there's a possibility some water may have gotten in the engine or into the electronics. I'm typically not super careful when I wash it.
My dad suggested some water may have gotten into the ignition coil, but I doubt that would cause my issue and I'm not even sure the bike HAS a coil.
Anyway, any thoughts?
EDIT: It seems to be running better now that I've let it sit outside in the sun for awhile, so chances are it was just water.
