900RRN Clutch Prob

Hi all, l have a problem with the clutch on my 900RRN, It has been stood for a long time, like a real long time 10 years plus. It starts fine runs and idols spot on however as soon as l try to put it into gear it try's to lurch forward and stalls. I have discounted the side stand switch as l have checked it through and its fine, l also looped a piece of wire to close the circuit. Could the clutch plates be stuck together with it being stood for so long. I have a very smooth clutch lever movement so l am at a bit of a loss what to do next. I don't want to rip the clutch apart if l don't have to just in case its something far more simple.

Hi and welcome to the forum. It certainly has all the symptoms of stuck clutch plates. Can you put the bike on a paddock stand and then start it? I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't get them to unstick just by working the clutch lever many times over and over. Try using some tape overnight to hold the clutch lever pulled fully in. It might allow them to release. Have you put fresh oil in it?
