Default 2001 CBR 125 Idling too high

Had problems with my bike recently.
Bike wouldn't start few days ago, put it down to battery not holding a charge.
When the battery is fully charged the bike will start, but the bike idles at around 6-7k.
I put this down to the choke cable, which i took off from the carb cleaned and lubricated it a bit.
When starting it up after this it idled at around the same as before, but after around 5 seconds the idle revs lowered all the way to zero.
Started the bike up again and its back to 6-7k.

Any ideas?

Hi
The connector is pretty loose tbh.
I think the battery is having problems because the bike hasn't been run for a while, but it seems to lose its charge quickly.
I'll check the spark plug
Cheers

The rubber connector from carb to engine needs to be tight so it doesnt let air in and destroy the vacuum, the charging is another issue and needs a multimeter to check it

Bike not starting today.
seems like there is a very faint hollow thumping noise coming from under tank.
Carb connector is tight, battery was sufficiently charged and the spark plug was working perfectly, plenty of fuel, no kill switches on bike.
Might just take it to a garage as I'm stumped.

Posting this in case someone else has similar problems.

Bike has been fixed
The Carburetor float was stuck, so no chance I would have been able to fix that at home, or even have been able to guess that.
