2000 HONDA CBR600 F4 starting issue
Hey everyone. I’m new here so hopefully this is the right place. I recently bought a used 2000 Honda CBR 600 f4. The bike has some trouble starting and idles rough at about 500-700rpm and the battery dies after like 5 attempts of starting it. I’ve got it to run on without a boost here and there but the moment you drop it into gear and let go of the clutch the bike will move a few feet before the engine dies out. The bike often times won’t start without a boost but I have got it running and driveable with a push start. After a push start the bike drives completely fine. It’s just getting it to that point where I have a problem. I have a video of the bike idling that I can send upon request. Unfortunately the video is too large to post on here.
thanks for all the help in advanced. Any advice or ideas as to where I should look or what I can do is greatly appreciated

Post video on YouTube and put link to it here.
Did you dump tank and get fresh petrol?
Completely disassemble carbs for full restoration job?
Probably needs new battery. They don't come charge, so be sure to trickle-charge new battery for 24-hrs before installing.

I have not taken apart the carbs. Is it a simple process? Truthfully speaking I am not very mechanically knowledgeable so I don't want to get ahead of myself and then end up screwing up the bike even more. If it is a complicated do you have a link or a different thread I can use a guide on how to take apart the carbs and do a full cleaning?
Appreciate the help.
Don’t use any higher octane than what manual says. 94 is more stable and more difficult to ignite. That’s partly contributing to your starting problems.
Takes lots of experience and specialised equipment to overhaul carbs. Need to destroy at least 10 sets of carbs getting that experience. Best to send carbs to pros for restoration. Expert workmanship, reasonable fees and quick turnaround. Bike will run like brand-new off showroom floor.

First off you should adjust the idle speed, it is way too low. Not surprised that it is stalling all the time.
The manual states 1300 rpm =/- 100 rpm. (non CA Model)
Certainly needs a new battery

Yeah, keep battery on trickle-charger 24/7. Shouldn't die after 5 attempts.
1. measure battery voltage with everything OFF, volts = ???
2. measure battery voltage during cranking, volts = ???
