1992 Cbr f2 No power
Im 100/% new here and ive had my cbr for about two months now.. and loved every minute of it. One day I was just riding along and my bike lost power.. all of it. When i turn the key literallly nothing comes on, no light no nothing. tried bump starting it and it wouldn`t keep power and die imediatly. I know its not the battery cause i just replaced that, also replaced the regulator/rectifier, and now im just stumped and would like any advice that anyone could possible give me, Thanks
There is not much that will cause a totally dead bike.
- Do you have 12v on the red wire at the ignition switch ?
- When you turn the key to the ON position, do you have 12V on the Blue/Orange wire and the Red/Black wire coming out of the ignition switch ?
If you have 12v on those spots, then do you have 12v on one side of all the fuses in the fuse box ? There are 4 fuses under there.
You're going to need to be more specific when you describe something. Remember that we're not there to see and hear what you do. So you have to be able to put into words what you're seeing and hearing.
If you remove all 4 fuses, then you should be able to read 12v on one side of each of the fuse connections. Naturally you wouldn't read anything on the other side because the way it gets there is through the fuse, and you've taken them out. So when you say it's different, how do you mean different ?

Sorry i havent been on here in a while but if your still willing to help id love, still no progress with the bike, but ive metered a ton of things out and found out that everything is good, until i plug in the 15amp fuse in the fuse box by my throttle, right when i plug that fuse in, my voltage drops from 12v to almost 0 =/ any ideas?
