Hey:
Is this a 88 CBR600F1 or CBR1000F MK1?
No not likely the CDI box as it will turn over just not fire 99% of the time, if bad.
This info is best asked in the correct forum to avoid confusion but the info I give is for the 1000F but is close to the same on the 600 as I have owned both.
It could be any number of things but check the ground by the front of bike near the rad on the left side. It grounds the gauges and completes the power circuit.
Another item is the battery/starter relay is bad/ or not connected properly, back by the battery on the right side near the seat.
You need the seat off and the right side cover it conects between starter and the battery they are about $25 new aftermarket see here. Starter Solenoid Relay Honda CBR1000F CBR1000 CBR 1000 | eBay
