Default 07 600rr shut off at a stop and wont start back up now

my 07 600rr with 12.6k miles on it was running good for 150 miles after i bought it last week, battery seemed strong everything seemed good, no lights were on the dash. An hourish ago i was coming home and stopped at these gates to get into my neighborhood when i looked up at my dash and the speedometer wasnt showing and the tach was at 0 yet the bike was running.. seconds later the bike shut off and i had to push it home because it would not start back up. Anyone have any sort of idea where i can start looking at? To me the fuel pump doesnt really whine like it did when i first picked it up after hitting the kill switch on but im not sure why the gauge cluster just stopped working. The gauge cluster does its normal routine when you turn the key now but when i hit the starter everything on the cluster turns off and when i give it gas it clicks. Maybe something to do with the alternator? any suggestions would be awesome, thanks

Sounds like a battery giving up ghost on you. Holding enough surface charge to give you a little stripper show with the gauges.

what do you mean by ghost haha? like just randomly ****ting on me? its all the signs of a dead battery but i just dont understand how, it was running then all of sudden gauges poop out and seconds later engine is done. when i give it gas as i hit the starter it'll make a rapid clicking noise and when i hit the starter no gas every light goes out.

You just described a battery going out, I would start there. Hopefully that's your only issue.

Yep. Sounds like your battery gave it up. Sounds like crud flaked off the cells until it built up enough to short them out.

So are we suggesting just get a new battery? Or should i try and pop start first or charge it then go from there? Maybe check for loose connections too?

A quick enough thing to is take the battery to a parta store and have them test it. If its good, you'll know. If its not, you're already at a parts store.

Well i got a new battery because the old one was 4 years old and now i was riding and the same thing happened. Gonna assume its the alternator or some wiring to the charging system

Do you have a voltmeter to check the output of the charging system?
