I got a 05 F4i and I just purchased new battery for it after having the bike garaged for a few months. I put the battery in and turn on the ignition. THe bike made the normal power up noises when I tried to start the bike however the light dimmed and the starter would not even crank over. The lights came back on after a second of dimming. I also noticed that the horn would not work. I checked the charge on the battery and it seemed fine, I checked the fuses and nothing seems to be blown. I would appreciate any help

 

Check that you tightened the battery cables well.

Sounds like you could have a loose connection somewhere, the full cranking voltage not getting thru. After that would prolly be checking the connectors on the wire harness. Then checking the actual starter button and horn button. Sometimes the solder in them deteriorates, causing a poor connection.

My guess: assuming there wasn't a starting issue before storing her, you have a loose connector on the harness somewhere. But start at the battery anyways since that was the last thing you messed with
