Default 03 CBR600RR Won't start

Hello everyone,

I have had my CBR for a while now with no issues. The one bad thing that I did was leave my bike out in the cold weather/ rainy weather when winter hit. The battery died but I charged it with a battery tender and it turned on again. I just moved from Virginia to Mississippi via a Penske truck and I tied my bike to the inside and it was very secure! It did not move at all. Fast forward to when I arrived to Mississippi and I tried to move my bike, it started for a second then turned off, then it would not turn on anymore. I checked the battery at auto zone and they said it was in good condition and the oil is pretty new. I can also hear the starter clicking so I assume it is also good.

When I try to turn it on it make the noise where its about to turn on but then it just doesn't. Im really not sure what the problem is. Would anyone know what some issues it could be?

Start at a knackered battery and work from there.

Try jumping it from a car battery (with the car not running) and see if that does the job.

Did fuel-pump prime when jumped with auto battery and key ON, start/stop=RUN?

Most likely some problems with corroded wiring and/or connectors in harness.

Go through this troubleshooting guide step-by-step and post your measurements. At some point, your numbers won’t match what manual says it should be. That’s where we look a little closer.

Pick ‘03-06 link at bottom. Photos are broken due to Google Drive image sharing. I’ll go through this weekend and upload pictures to those threads directly.

Then you are into measuring voltages and tracking down the bad connection(s).

You say that the starter relay is clicking but you do not say that the engine is turning over so that is the first place to start. Follow the wiring diagram measuring the voltage at each connection

If you get a good click from the starter motor and the lights work well, I would suggest pulling the plugs and seeing if it's hydrolocked.

But - explain this more "it make the noise where its about to turn on but then it just doesn't." - do you mean you hear the fuel pump prime, or?

It's turning over fine, and trying to start - sounds like it's out of gas - I would check the fuel is turned on, there's something in the tank, and then the output of the fuel pump - it's firing, just not getting enough fuel to run.

I suspected that as well and I put 2 gallons in there a few days ago, so the level is almost full.

see what's coming out of the fuel pump then - should be a good solid stream when you are cranking.
