Angry 02 F4i neutral light trouble

my f4i was purchased recently and the bike needed a new motor so i replaced the motor but kept my orginal wiring harness .. heres the kicker i bought the motor from a stunt rider that bypassed a bunch of safety crap ... I have a problem of thinking my bike is in nuetral and starting it and it jumps so i want to fix it .... The bike runs fine but the kickstand nor clutch effects me starting it and my nuetral light is always on but i have the nuetral safety wire grounded at all times to keep it running so the light always is on .... i plug it back onto the switch like its supposed to be and when its in nuetral the light is on i pull the clutch in it goes off or when i try to start it is goes off .... it wont start unless the nuetral wire is always grounded ... can anyone help .. the light is annoying and so is me not knowing when it is in nuetral

To fix this you're going to need to have the wiring diagram and check for the proper operation of the Clutch Switch and the Neutral Switch. Both of these items may have been bypassed. It seems likely the Clutch Switch to me. The bike thinks that the clutch is always pulled in, so the bike will start in gear. You can find links on the site for the shop manual. It tells you how to check these items for proper operation.
