Default 02 600F4I Fuel Pump Question

I was ready to install my fuel pump assembly back into the tank and noticed this wire was broken. Is this some kind of diode? I assume this wire should be attached but is no longer. How would I fix this?

Pretty sure it's a capacitor. It's not available individually from Honda, and it is not documented in the wiring diagram. Might check ebay if you can't solder the wire back on.

It's the fuel level sensor - https://www.ebay.com/itm/38549092568...oaAg14EALw_wcB

So all I have to do is solder the end of the wire to the point where it is now and find a new ground and im good?

Thanks

I would think the current sender is probably dead but you could try that for sure. If you don't get a low gas warning, you can ignore it or replace it. It's already grounded by virtue of being pressed into that metal holder. A new one would work the same way, just remove the existing ground wire off the side.

Don't leave that wire hanging though - too much risk of a spark.

Got it. I ordered a new sensor but its about a month out. I just cut the wire and capped it with heat shrink for the time being. I found something else wrong with the bike anyways so it'll sit here until its ready. Thanks!
