Default My CBR 125 R won’t start and engine light

Hi All,
in desperate need of some advice! My CBR125r won’t turn on. Engine light comes on with a clicking sound video attached. Anyone know what this is or how to sort it? Thanks!

Hey jpot, you're not the first and wont be the last to have problems with a CBR125 I'm sorry to say, I don't know where Honda's head was at when they built this bike but it certainly wasn't on reliability these bikes are horrendously bad. To a teenager wanting a nice little sports bike these do tend to be the type out there that stand out from the crowd not unlike the YZF125R and those are just the same one problem after another.

The engines in the CBR125R and the YZFR125 are pretty much the same motors both are equally rubbish you have only to google CBR125R known issues and you will find all kinds of reported problems. Someone else was on here only days ago with problems with his and I'll tell you pretty much what I advised him to do, get rid of it buddy.

Do yourself a favour save up some more money and look around for a nice 80s Suzuki RG125 Gamma a Yamaha RD125DX or an early Honda NS125 / MBX125 something that has been either looked after or restored. If you can get the money together because something like this won't be cheap either one of these bikes will be a great buy but just like anything else you gotta look after it maintain it and service it regularly. The Honda CBR125 range will let you down every day of the week and twice on Sunday I wouldn't wish one on anyone, sorry bud but that's the way of it.

I haven't watched the video but if you're getting a clicking and it starts when you press the electric start button then it's more than likely the starter solenoid or a dead battery or bad connection on the starter/battery leads. Check all that out clean all the connections check any fuses to make sure none of them are blown then try it again if you can get it going put it up for sale and buy yourself something reliable.
