Adjusting topic titles to match the topic

For people who search, it's a pain when people post threads with topics like, "What do you think..." or "Which one?" or other such non-specific titles. I know it's asking a bit much of the mods, but it's annoying when I do a search and I have to sift through all of those topics just because they MIGHT contain something that I'm looking for... maybe there's something that could be done about it?

ppl use the search feature??? lol j/k (sorta ;))

have you tried to search 'post' n not just treads?

Well, I'm currently searching for people who have posted CBR600RR vs. CBR600 F4i threads, but after about 30-40 pages of search results I just gave up. :(

As Playfulgod mentioned , if you are searching from the main page , just check the " search posts " instead of the " search threads "

If you are at the main board page in the particular section you want to search , check the same " search posts " and the entire content of the posts within that board will be searched for relevant content ...

and yes , we do encourage members to run searches if they are new to the CBRF to avoid excess amounts of duplicate threads being created ...

and no , we cannot run around re naming all the threads for everyone ...:icon_doh:

but your suggestion is still appreciated raylee ...:icon_wink:

I spend an easy 8hrs a week just going through new registrations. Can't even imagine trying to rename every thread. However, I feel your pain and have been trying to install section moderators in each section. They would only have to worry about 1 small area and could, if they choose to, make changes to help the searching out. But like Steve said, the site staffers are highly over worked and tremendously under paid.

The effort doesn't go unappreciated. I've been on and off of car/bike message boards/forums for years now and find CBRF to be one of the best in terms of organization and moderation. Don't even own a Honda (yet), but the general atmosphere of this forum is far from a lot of the hater crowds that seem to be in overabundance in many other motorsports based forums.
