I have to admit it also but, I have a Repsol and love it but a friend of mine has the R1 and I have to say it is also a great piece of machinery.

Sounds like you have a single-sided swingarm fetish! Nice bike choices though. What's the deal with the 1000RR
Not to hijack.

The 1000RR is awesome, stable, fast, focused. Love the electronic damper, smooth power delivery, controls, looks, and fit and finish. The short answer is the ergos are too extreme for me and the riding I have been doing.

What's everybody's next machine? Or do you plan on sticking with the F4i indefinitely? I'm thinking about the 600RR or a liter bike (either RC51 or 1000RR) in a few years. I'm still having too much fun with the F4i (plus still have a loan outstanding). Anybody staying with Honda? Going with a different make or model?
When I am done with the F4i, I will get upgrading to a brand new 1000RR. My friend was like that. He had a 600 F4, figured he'd ge the 600RR, figured being upgraded and Fuel Injected it would be a big upgrade. He wasn't too happy. The F4i will keep up just fine with a 600RR so it's really not an upgrade. He wishes he went with the 1000 at the end of the day. That's the only real way to feel satisfied. Going from one 600 to another isn't going to make you happy if you want more speed and power.

I've had my 05 F4i for 4 month now. Had 5 year of experience before than on old CB550F!! I just love running through canyons. Pretty much satified with its smooth yet can be aggressive character! Was thinking of getting 05 ZX-6R, 600RR or 06 R6. Was wondering if any of you F4i owners have tried other 600's and noticed any BIG differences in handling, cornering stability, breaking, that is worth investing a few thousand bucks. I do give credit for idea of going to 1000 is a true upgrade. I like the light weight and handling of 600's. But I've never ridden 1000RR or others. Any good pointers??

I believe the other machines (other 600 class bikes) have different ergos. Ergos is the biggest difference between an F4i and a 600RR. There's some additional power and torque, but it's marginal. I mean, most riders prob. couldn't tell the difference between a machine that outputs 95 HP to one that's pushing 102 HP, right? Torque differences are smaller. The liter bikes are in a class of their own.

I think you are right. I won't be able to tell too much differences of 95 and 102hp myself in regular streets. I agree that ergos is a little less uncomfortable in most other sport 600's. But probably ok for 1-2hr canyon riding I usually do. It's just other 600's has that aggressive look that F4i lacks. Why did Honda put than ugly banana seat on F4i? Hope they do a recall to fix it!! How about inverted fork, slipper clutch or fly by wire features??

the one piece seat is there for function. its more comfortable for more people than the two separate seats. and they had to differentiate the looks from that of the 600rr. and don't hold your breath on the recall. the unibrow is here to stay. you can do a tail swap from a 01-03 model though if you really want the racer look.

those things are not added because they are not needed. the bike performs flawlessly. if it aint broke, dont fix it. besides all the newer technology will be added to the 600rr and the 1000rr first. and i don't believe any honda's come with a slipper clutch.

My next bike... RC-51!! It will be in addition to my F4i though, not a replacement. F4i isn't going anywhere! I know the ergos aren't exactly the greatest on the RC so I still need something comfy for long trips and my daily commute. It'll be awile before I get another bike though.... still got 4 more years of payments on this one, and I doubt I could get much if I tried to sell it anyways (one year and two month old bike with 40k miles...ehhh I dunno). I'm a Honda nut though so whatever I do get will be a Honda

adding a rc51 would be a great complement to the f4i. nothing is sweeter than the sound of a hi-po twin. my only real complaint with the rc is the gauges. i found it almost impossible to read the tach. but that was on a 2000 model and maybe it has/will be changed by the time you get one.

Dream bike Ducati 999R, in reality it will probably be a 2nd hand litre bike either a RR or a R1
