yosh. TRS removable insert

I just picked up a yosh. trs slip-on w/ a race baffle, I noticed that under the tip (exit) there is an allen screw that is holding what looks like an removeable insert. I read on the yosh. website that some exhaust have what they call T.E.C. When removed it will give you 5 more decibles of sound emitting from your exhaust. I was going to remove it and give it a shot but there is a small bead of weld from the allen bolt to the bottom of the tip. I did receive a CA. model exhaust (they said they only make 50 state legal now) I know how strict they are in CA. about exhaust notes these days. So I'm wondering if that is why there is a bead of weld? Has anyone else come across this situation? Your thoughts? Thanks for your time!

hmmm... got the exact exhaust. don't have the CA model though and never really looked at the end of the pipe. I'll go check it out later.

You got the TRS with the Zyclone baffle not the race baffle. Many have just removed it. The race baffle doesn't have the insert. The zyclone is basically two baffles in one to make it quieter.

I just put that same pipe on my bike a few weeks ago. Take the allen screw out, grab the inner baffle with a pair of pliers and out she comes. Awesome difference.

P.S. that bead of weld should not be holding anything in, it's just where the allen screw goes through. Once you take the baffle out you will see what I'm talking about.
