yes you can have marker and signal in a 2-wire LED
I've read here and on other forums that replacing the front signal/marker with LEDs will result in losing the marker light functionality.
That's just not true, hear me out...
The stock wiring is a three-wire circuit.
RED = +12v
Black and Black/whiteboth ground through either the signal relay or the marker light circuit.
What most people don't realize is that the marker light circuit is disabled when the signal relay is activated. I used a volt meter to confirm. You can do this yourself, it's easy.
So, to wire the LEDs so that you get both marker and signal, combine the black and black/white and wire to the LED. Then con.nect the red wire to the other LED wire.
Bingo. LEDs are lit up at all times except when the turn signal is activated - at which point they blink as expected.
Several companies are selling special converters online to do this - they range anywhere from $20 to $30 each. Don't waste your money.

RE: yes you can have marker and signal in a 2-wire LED
Iwas a searchingmadman trying to find that info because I knew it had to be possible. I wish I'dseen that post sooner and saved myselfsome time. Dunno why I never saw that post because I thought I'd read every single LED conversion thread on the forum.
I should point out that this technique is probably going to be bike-specific. That the marker circuit is killed when the blinkers are activated on the F4i was just plain lucky... so this solution may not work on all bikes. However, I recently upgraded the side/signal lights to LEDs on my Jeep and it worked the same way, so who knows.
