Xantec HID Conversion Kit
 

Ok, so I bought an almost complete F4I Fairing kit, with the headlights, (Only the tail section wasn't included). Little did me, or the seller know, but the guy he bought the bike from, had change out the OEM headlights to a Xentec HID Conversion Kit.

When I hook both lights up to my Low beam wire, both lights flicker and then one will go out and the other will light up. It is random as to which one wins the battle. I can hook up either light by itself and it will work fine. I realize there isn't enough power going through the low beam wire to supply both lights, (each light has it's own ballast). So I hooked up one light to my low beam wire, and the other light to my high beam wire. When I stand the bike up close to a wall, I can see one light points up substantially more than the other, as if he had the right one as the high beam, and the left one as the low beam to begin with.

So my questions are these;

1. Is it common to have the left light work only for low beam, and the right light to work only for the high beam?

2. Short of running the lights through a 12v relay, is there a way to increase the power output from the low beam switch so I can run both headlights as a low beam? I really don't care for the idea of only one light working at a time. I plan to put a very small, but very powerful high beam under the fairing and above the front fender, that won't be seen unless you are looking for it.

Thoughts? Ideas?

low beam should only be left but both on high

Kewl. I will try that tomorrow. (Starting to get dark).

Is the battery fully charged or is the electrical system putting out what it should? Reason I ask is a true HID system will use half or less than the stock 55W light so you should be able to run both lights on low.

This is how I knew my stator fried 2 years ago ... not enough voltage to run both HIDs. By the time I got home the one that was still working looked like a strobe ... not a fun ride :eek:

I haven't had the bike long, so that could be very possible. I will break out the meter tomorrow as well.

Make sure you have a solid ground.

I am confused on how to hook up the left to low and both to high.

I understand the part of connecting the low beam wire to the left light.

But by connecting the high beam wire to the right and left, I have just made a solid connection of left and right at all times, meaning they will both be on with low beam on or high beam.

Am I missing something? Am I complicating something that isn't complicated?

I have not actually tried this, but I try to think things through and running this through my mind isn't adding up.

yea its from ebay. i have it too. its good, lasted at least 1 yr now. but the high beam it shoots up in the sky so i took it off
