Wrong size headlight bulb?

So I thought my headlight burnt out, went out to buy two new ones, supplier said they were h7 so I bought two, brought them home tried to put them in but the plug has a wider stab in??? I have ordered replacement harnesses for headlight when I was restoring it and I'm pretty sure I got the right harness but the bulbs don't fit? Any idea which one I have

I have an 04 cbr f4i

Take the adapter off the old one an put it on the new bulb.

Adapter as the metal back?? From the old light bulb...?

There is an adapter between the bulb and the harness.

It's black...

Can u provide a pic cause I'm looking at where the bulb plugs into the harness part and I'm not seeing an adapter all I'm seeing is my previous bulb prongs are farther apart than the h7

I can later. My bike is not with me.

Can you post a pic of your old bulb, the new one, and the harness connector?

Yea I think I can, I know my old bulb is from my 1990 f1 and I just looked it up and it's an h4?? I'm guessing those are wider, I rigged it to fit it I'm doing a conversion on my bike and had the spare bulb at the time and never changed it, but the harness is original I've bought 3 cause of not looking carefully and parts missing

That's different.

The H4 is a wider 3 prong bulb. The H7 uses an adapter to hold it in the bezel.

#6 in the diagram....
