Worth Caging My Bike?
I'd like to get a cage for my bike but I'm worried about slamming my knees against it over bumps and it limiting my clearance while turning. Anyone have any input about them? I'd like to go with either an Impaktech, new breed or sick innovations. I'd really like one but I have a very clean F4i and I'd hate to sacrifice ridability for something that would force me to cut my fairings

Cages are for stunting.

I ground the stock rear sets so much I broke the feeler pegs off both sides. Can't imagine how much worse it would be with a cage that sticks out so far. So either you make a stunt bike and cage it or don't stunt it and leave it with no cage so you can enjoy it as its meant to be enjoyed...

I can drag knee without touching my cage down. That said I cant lean much more than that, so sticking my knee out as a gauge is super important. Unless you池e going around knee dragging everywhere with very cambered roads you should be fine. As for hitting your legs on them, well it depends on how long your legs are lol |

Like this pic?ahahahaaha sorry couldn't resist. But it is important to remember everyone rides different, so what works for one might not work for another. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...1232d3ed5.jpeg Obviously I知 not dragging knee in that photo but I uploaded it so people considering cages can see even with my bulky cage there is still quite a lot of lean clearance. I知 not saying I知 the best rider or anything, far from it but quite a few of talented riders I know rock full cages as well and slay at canyons. I dont think cages stick out as much as people make them to be. Obviously cages are not the best choice for track or canyon only bikes but if you like to practice stunts on your daily ride its not a bad choice at all, i know my cage has saved my ass couple times |

I live an incredibly flat state and have to drive at least an hour to get to any sort of twisties so i may as well get one. what kind of cage are you running yourself?
I considered getting Impaktech they have even more lean clearance but they池e $$$ af and I liked how the new breed has shocks in the sliders |

Oh then you値l be fine... The cage I got on is New Breed itx4. It comes with 4 sliders but I took the bottom 2 off for more lean clearance, planning on putting them back on if/when I make the f4i a dedicated stunter I considered getting Impaktech they have even more lean clearance but they池e $$$ af and I liked how the new breed has shocks in the sliders |
