Default Winter Months - slow around here...

Since it's so quiet here I was wondering what most people do dugin this time of year. I know a lot of us are in the northern hemisphere so it's considered winter but how many people park their bikes and don't ride? How many do projects on their bikes? How many ride?

Personally this is the time of year I actually ride. Even though I've been in Texas for 42 years, I am still not a hot weather person. I park mine and do projects from April - September ish.

I keep the bike running all year. I've found that there are more days I don't ride due to the unbelievable amount of salt and gravel the state dumps on the roads at the merest hint of snow, than due to actual weather. I also have the "leaking roof" conundrum, i.e. on the days I don't ride, it's usually too cold to want to work in the garage and on the days it's warm enough, I don't want to waste a riding opportunity working on the bike!

I try to pass the time with other hobbies (mostly reading and reloading) but, by this time of year, I'm ready for summer!

Same here, all year round unless there is actually snow / ice on the ground which is prob 2-3 weeks a year at most. Quite lucky really never extremely cold but very wet!!
I volunteer for the regional Blood-Bike charity which provides out of hours support to the local hospitals transferring blood and related products.

When I can't get out to ride due to weather, I'll be in garage working on bike projects. Have AC and heater so it's comfortable. Currently working on one of these:

- NSR250R frame
- RZ350/Banshee engine with Athena build
- True Temper chromoly bicycle tubing for custom engine mounts
- next up is Microsquirt EFI

target 65-75bhp, sub 270-lb weight with 4-ltr petrol in tank.

Not too many non-rideable days where I live. But I do take advantage of the cooler weather and work outside on the property as much as possible. The previous owner didn’t take care of it at all so there’s always briars and brush to clear.
it’s no fun doing that stuff in the summer.

This winter has been very mild. Last year, I winterized the bike and had it put away for almost three months. It's been very refreshing this season as I've been able to ride almost every week.

Same here! Just hope that doesn't mean the summer is also warmer than usual!

Such negativity. Bring the heat and humidity as soon as possible.
