Default will it work?

i don't ride on the super-slab orfind the need to hit tripple digits anymore so essentially 4th-6th gear are pretty useless on my bike. i only have 1900 miles on my chain and sprockets and the chainhasn't really stretched at all. i'd like more low-end grunt and want to change my sprocket set-up for quicker acceleration (-1/+2).i'm not gonna get a new chain, justnew sprockets. i searched but can't find a good answer? will this gearing work with the stock chain thats still basically on the new marks? i like to run my chains a little on the loose side, say 1-1/2" of slack? will this gearing be possible with a nearly new stock chain and still allow me to run that much chain slack? thanks

Any body correct me if im wrong but i think that you can run a stock 525 chain and make sprocket adjustments! I have the 520 and aside from tooth count the differences to my understanding is the fact that a 520 chain is lighter and smaller then a 525 set up! But go to a local shop and ask! I went -1/+2 and i love it!!! Just be careful doing 1st gear wheelis it is something to get used too... bike comes up a lil quicker!

It probably wont work, heres what I did when I changed to a 520 -1/+2 setup: I cut the original chain to get it off, counted the links on the chain, then cut my new chain to that length. After I changed the sprockets I went to go put on my new chain "oh ****" the chain isnt long enough...... the chain will need to be longer to compensate for the sprocket change in the back. Your only option if you really want to change sprockets and keep the stock chain is to only go -1 in front. If you want -1/+2 then just do a 520 conversion and get a new chain while you're at it.

It will work, I went -1/+2 with the original chain with no problems.

ok.. guess it will work, but if you decide to do a 520 conversion, don't make the same mistake I did and cut the chain the same length as the original

i would just go with -1 and see how you like it...
if it's not enough then buy the +2.

first will be jerky compared to stock.
