Will no O2 sensor affect performance?

O.K. men, I just got my CF Two Bros Slip On. I had to go with Two Bros because they have that low, rumble, sound that is awesome.

O2 sensors are only on California models unless you have a 2006 F4i. Mine isn't a Cali model but it is a 2006 so it has the O2 sensor hookup.

The person that owned it before me put that crappy straight pipe on it & took the O2 sensor off. It has the wires for the O2 sensor but no sensor.

It runs fine now without the sensor. Do I really need the O2 sensor when I put the two bros on? The can comes with the bolt to cover up where the sensor goes. All those other year models didn't need one so I'm thinking that it won't make a big difference on my 06 model.

Will the O2 Sensor affect the performance at all?

Thanks,
Joe

I would say if it is running fine with out the sensor. Just put a bolt in the sensor hole and don't worry about it. But this is just my 2 cents...

well since the computer reads the o2 sensor to measure what the fuel/air mixture needs to be you either need to have a bung welded in to the pipe and have an o2 sensor or do a bypass of the sensor completely.

hope this helps
