White residue on frame?
So I searched and got mixed answers...
I have this white soap looking residue on my frame and swing arm on my bike and no matter how much I wash the bike it won't come off. Im not sure if it is like oxidation or something but I have some turtlewax rubbing compound and polish and was wondering if I rubbed that on would it work to get rid of it? Or has this happened to anyone else and if so how do I get rid of it? Thanks, |
could it be that wax is already on the frame? I know polish/wax looks like garbage when it gets on the frame. You need a wax remover to get that off. Not sure if its the same thing on your frame though. Any pics?

Not sure if it is wax or not? It was there when I bought the bike last summer and I just thought it needed a wash to get it off but it just isn't going away.

My bike is in storage about an hour away but I'll try to get out there and get some pics.

That sounds like your frame has oxidation. Mine has it too. That is the way it looks when aluminum rusts.
