Default Whinning sound after sprocket change

LIke it says I am noticing at bit of a whinning sound only when accelerating and I dont know if it has always been there and I am just trying to hear something out of the ordinary just being cautious. Doesnt anyone have anything remotely sounding like this going on ? I went -1/+2 with a new chain and I dont know it rides prefectly fine i have probably put 100-150 miles on the set-up and noticed it. Any advice or suggestions would be great. Thanks

check to make sure you have proper tension on the chain....it is probably rubbing on something like the guard.

Did you do the 520 conversion as well? Mine made a whining noise too at first, still does sometimes. Depends how well lubed up it is I guess lol.

IME, a whining chain is becuase it is too tight--but either way check the tension.

A friend of mine had the same issue on his 900 rr. It ended up being that the new sprocket didn't have the same spacing on the inside as his old one. It doesn't hurt anything, it runs fine it's not rubbing it's just a little bit off from stock, and that makes it wine when he accelerates. Check the spacing on the old sprocket, and the new one to see if that might be causing the issue. Again, it doesn't seem to hurt anything unless it's making it rub on something.

Good point. I mean I put on AFAM sprockets on front and rear but that makes since as to what it could be. Thanks

Check everything again, and if it seems normal (not too tight/ not too loose; or rubbing)....wait and let your chain and sprockets wear in together.
