Where to order CCT?

I checked BikeBandit and they must be out of stock because it's not letting me order it through their website. Only other place I could find would be the Honda Dealership, but im looking to get it cheaper/quicker than the dealership, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Got mine from honda4u.com which highercal recommended. Good price and I got it in about a week, order a gasket too.

I made my CCT, its lasted nearly 2000 miles so far.

At least 4 different trips about 100mph for nearly 3 hours (short of one stop for gas, to st augstine and back twice) with out a issue.

Take the stock CCT apart. Remove the spring and the flat head thing. then put it back togeather. Then buy a tap and dye ($6 and change at hoe depot and comes with the drill bit for the hole) and buy a 5 1/2 in bolt for that thread pattern. and BAM.. oh yeah but 2 nuts also to lock it in place.

If you need i can try to take the second stock cct apart and show you how to build your own. Costed me $10 for a manual cct. and litterly 15 mins work.

Thanks for the help guys, I was really wanting to go with the OEM auto tensioner to be on the safe side of things. I ordered part number 578030 off of bike bandit, does this look to be the right part that I need? Thanks in advance!

No that's the wrong part, you need part number 4 in the picture, listed as the "LIFTER, TENSIONER".

I ordered mine from Ron Ayers site..

Make sure when you order that you get all new bolts, washers and gasket.

Its a pain to replace..make sure you read the guides on the site, you will need some special attachments to reach it. It almost looks like an after thought, how they cut a hole in the frame to make sure you can get to it.

You don't need new bolts, reuse the old one's, a new gasket though is a good idea as I already mentioned. My gasket was the biggest PITA to get off, I should have just left it on there.

Thanks everybody, but are you sure that's the wrong part? Why would I need a lifter tensioner if what I need is called a cam chain tensioner..

chambers 03-26-2012 07:23 PM

Yea, I'm sure you ordered the wrong part see here for the how to https://cbrforum.com/forum/how-mecha...l-pics-116975/ and check the sticky thread for more info. It's sometimes referred to on here as the cct but is actually the cctl=cam chain tensioner lifter. It's responsible for the bb's rattling in a can sound at certain rpm's when it craps out.
