does anyone know how much RPM can 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th and 6th could handle
think about this though. do you think the redline point changes with each gear? no.. if you can run the rpm's to 14k in first .. guess what you can do the same in 2nd 3rd 4th 5th an 6th.. it all depends on your driving habit and how your riding at the moment..

If you learn how to drive a stick in a car that will give you a great idea of what clutch throttle relationship is all about of course BUT as for your question WHEN to shift, your car redlines at like 7k-8k but your bike redlinesMUCH later so dont sweat it you got alot of room just listen to your engine and eventually it will be second nature!

i just say stay in first gear the whole time. you can get up to like 70MPH in 1st. If you shift gears, then you're speeding

I hope i dont see chesnut out on the road when im riding. Chestnut, no one here means to be rude, but realize what your asking, you came in a motorcycle experienced forum and then asked - "when do i shift" i am not trying to throw you under the buss right here but you need to do some research and then ask a more detailed question.

instead of coming here on the internet to learn how to ride, and i dont mean getting tips from you tube,,, take the MSF course. they are all over the country and they do a great job for begging riders.. take that,

then ask questions

This is why they dont offer the MSF as an online course. YOU CANT LEARN TO RIDE ON THE INTERNET!!! lol.

I Have A 01 booklet even though my bike is a 06 but i shift from 4k-5k in the city ima in 2nd-3rd gear and on the highway ima in 6th maybe 5th pending on traffic but its all really how you want to drive it just find a smooth point when shifting gears your can also tell be the sound of the engine

Noobcakes gives good advice (welcome to CBRF btw) .. Rev it up near redline one time and listen to the sound .. when riding, if it sounds anywhere near that, you're shifting too late. Sound of the engine is really all you need to go by imo.

p.s. All the negativity in this thread is totally unnecessary. Shift it into a more positive gear. k?thx
