When to change your chain?
My F4i got like roughly 12k miles on it and when the chain is lubed properly and the bike is running it sounds and feels great. But was wondering if I should be aware of anything? Only reason I ask is cause the dude at the dealership mentioned it but they r supposed to look for stuff to fix and make money

Well first off make sure all the o-rings are there, and no rust is present. Than you have to check certain points of the chain to see if the tight and loose spots are drastic. For example one area in the chain has 1.5 inches of slack, and the other has 3 inches of slack. If you find that you have to adjust your chain here is a link: http://www.shraz.net/motorcycle/f4i/drivechain/
Their is also indicators where the axle nut is. Hope this helps! |

Also, check the rollers and make sure they are not really sloppy.

The stretch mark is usually a good indicator too.
