Wheelie part II

Wheelie part II
Hey f4i guys and gals... I've been riding for about 2 years now. I love my f4i (2002 yellow and black) and I've learned to really corner on that thing. I'm not sure if it's the bike, but I've been through the ortegas with a bunch of my friends and they can't keep up. They're all on other 600s. They say I'm a natural, but if I'm such a natural, why am I so scared to wheelie? I tried it on my block, popping the clutch in first, and it scared the $h!t out of me. I got it really high though, and rode it for about 50 feet. I tried dumbing the clutch in second too, but only at like 60-75. I'm 21, right in the middle (age-wise) of all my rider friends, and I am the only one out of my friends who can't wheelie. Give me some pointers or stories of how you learned. I went to a bike night, and one dude said he just did it. What does that mean? Please help.

Figured out a new way tonight. It's much easier than the above way, and you can do it at a lower RPM.
I was riding, and just to try it, I was in first gear, I held the rpm's steady, pulled in the clutch, and popped it out, bike lifted up nicely. Rode it out for about 20 feet and took it down. Easy way to pop it up. Or go about 10 MPH, pull the clutch in, rev it up, and pop it, just be careful. Don't rev it too high. I don't think I ever went over 8 grand. That's a real easy way to have your bike run off without you.

That's the one I do already. I want to be able to do wheelies at a little faster speed. I was riding next to this 1000rr, and he saw me, and just lifted up on his back. We were going about 50. I know it's easier for those liter bike guys, but I know it can be done on my f4i. I tried revving it up in second, and popping the clutch. The first time, I got it up like a foot and it went right back down. I think that was at 7k. I got too scared to do it any higher, so i kind of f**ked it up the other times i tried. I think I have the idea now, I just need to get the ***** to do it.

Ride out first gear until you feel the need to shift up to second---at that point don't shift, but instead give it more throttle and use your weight to lift it up---shouldnt be a problem---start off small tho, nothing to rush!
