What is your favorite battery and why?

What is the best type of motorcycle battery? What BRAND?

Lead acid, gel cells, absorbed matt glass, or any others, which is the best in your opinion?

Which battery out of all are the lightest?

I've had a Shorai for the last year or so and its been great. Its a Lithium type so its ultra light, it weights only 1 pound compared to the 10lb stock battery. When I swapped it in it cranked faster than the stock battery EVER did and it still works like that to this day. Its also very small, you could fit a power commander in the battery tray alongside the battery or they supply adhesive foam strips to fill the void.

I seem to go through batteries once a year; usually in July. So, I am VERY interested in this thread. My Yusa YTZ10S went dead earlier this month. I've been through 3 Yusa batteries since I got her. This last one I decided to get the more expensive one from my local Honda dealership; cost me $130.

I replaced it with a battery from Batteries Plus; $89 with a one year warranty. We'll see how it handles.

I replaced my OEM battery with a Shorai about 1.5 years ago. The Shorai is 1.1 lbs, compared to my OEM which was around 5.5 lbs. It cranks faster than the OEM.

The only drawback is that the Shorai doesn't like really cold weather. They say you should turn your lights on for a few minutes before trying to start the engine in cold weather or it will crank really slow. Not a problem with me. I usually put my bike up in November and fire it back up in April.

Here's my Shorai next to my old OEM battery:

I bought a lifetime warranty battery from my local cycle gear for a tad more than what batteries plus was selling theirs for. Can't remember what brand

The lithium ion battery looks much smaller. How do keep it from moving around inside the batter box on the bike?
