Looking at a local rashed (on both sides) f4i - looks like it was down pretty hard... but everything is scratched.. not cracked.. the frame looks straight - the bike is an 01 with 12k - the faring bolts are missing in several places - looks to be all the damage i could find... what would you pay (i know pics would help, but i don't have any) - the rash is pretty bad - engine cover scratched - needs brake lever - but everything looks repairable.. help appreciated.

mileage is pretty low for an 01 but i've seen other f4i's with no rashes go for that much. depends on where you live i guess. any pics?

hmm from what I heard the most I would pay is 2k and that's being nice. Post some pictures if you get the chance and I'm sure you'll get alot of replys.

 

$3,300 seems pretty damn high for a rashed 01 F4i lol. I wouldn't pay anymore than like 2K-2.5K for it, but that's only after knowing if the frame wasn't damaged. Just knowing a bike went down reasonably hard makes it worth less in my mind.

 

2001 F4i is 7 years old. With rash, 2k - 2.5k, but you've got to make sure there's no other hidden damage

 

I paid 2500 for my F4i with rash on the one side. 25k miles tho, but it has a bunch of new parts on it and all the plastics were repairable. The biggest most expesive thing I had to replace was just the upper cowl stay at $60.

 

Bought my '02 with 10k with all the fairings and tank rashed, cracked, or broken. I paid 2600 and that seemed like a good deal. Realize that if you want to it to look good those fairings (even with ebay) are expensive and for what you pay in repairs you could have had a cleaner bike to start with.

 

some guy #2 hit that on the head....well if the fairings need to be replaced. I got mine b/c I could fix my fairings.

 

I got my salvage 02 for $2K from a friend, he could have sold it for $2600 to another guy... but he was nice to give it to me instead. It was rideable, but all the fairings were rashed on both sides, stator cover rashed. He replaced thebrake lever, front peg, andmirrors before i got it. Look at my thread in my sig to see what i did to mine after i bought it.

Depending on the physicalshape, i think $3300 is a little much considering the blue book on a nicernot rashed F4i.

 

yea mine is in perfect condition... never been down...a one owner (the previous owner) bike who babied it and i got it for 3900 so theres no way i would pay 600 less for somethin thats been down at all... let alone down hard, with bolts and everything missing. you could find a nearly perfect 01 f4i for 3300
