Talking What should I do to improve/maintain my bike over the winter down time?

I live in northern Michigan where we have snow for about 5 grueling months. Im just looking for suggestions on what I should do for maintenance or upgrades during my down time. Oil change, and my CCT (just for ****s and giggles) are the only ones on my list so far. Maybe coolant flush? fork seals? The bike is an 01 with about 6000 miles on it, so Im assuming nothing drastic need be done. Maybe new sprockets already? Just looking for suggestions!!

Ummm all that stuff can be seen if its nessacary. Just actually look at the forks for leaks, the sprockets for wear etc. If coolant is original certainly flush it. Brake fluid as well. Then lower the front a bit, raise the rear with some shims, install new springs and valves in your front end, and install a nice slip on. That sounds like a productive winter

Thanks! And I know most can be done when it shows signs of wear and tear, but Im obsessed with my bike and want to make sure it running/looks perfect haha. And those are all things ill add to the list! With the exception of the slip on, th one thats on has been on it for about a week now. The lift/lowering sounds fun

The biggest thing is to put some stabil in your gas and put the battery on a trickle charger. As stated coolant flush and brake fluid change aren't bad ideas.

Yeah, I'm a pro at the winteriziation of everything lol. I'm talking performance, upgrades, ect whilst I have copious amounts of time. Lately I've considered upgrading to braided brake lines, is it worth it?

I installed a full set of SS brake lines this summer. I mainly did it for the aesthetics. I only ride on the street and I don't notice any better braking now than before I installed them.

Certainly. The silver braided lines definitely look better than the black rubber ones. Also, you have a choice of 11 different colors (yellow isn't shown in the pic) on the lines and 5 colors on the banjo fittings, if you'd rather have something else than silver.

Mine are Galfer. They were running a special where if you buy a front set you get the rear one free.
