This is what I do. I ride with music all the time. But earplugs are uncomfortable and boring.

Plus, I'm not sure about the law either, but I haven't seen anything against it here in Illinois, but everyone I know does it.

I don't know how you guys do it. I tried riding with music one time just to try it. It was an uneasy feeling that every noise around me was dulled out. I felt unsafe that one of my senses was impaired

OK...after reading this thread I feel like I ride way to fast at way to high RPM's. I usually ride the highways between 80-100mph and my RPM is usualy around 8-9K. Am I being too hard on my bike?

Your pc3 has hardly anything to do with it. Its the 600cc between your legs that allows for instant throttle response

lol. so true

i ride any where from 65mph(the speed limit) to 75mph depending on traffic. if remembering correctly that puts me around 6-7k rpm.

as for music; only when im taking the freeway to college. try not to in town unless its to or from school. Im ok with it on the freeway because its not exactly like you can here much past the wind and exhaust.

Umm.... at least 9k? I have a long commute everyday and I'm usually at 110mph+
It makes the ride more interesting

EDIT: I misunderstood the question. If I'm cruising I'm not even paying attention to the RPM. I would be in 6th gear and at around 70 mph
