what position should I have my REAR shock set on?? I weigh 275

i have a 06 f4i, first bike and i love it! I've messed with the suspension a little I think I got it set up pretty good, it rides and takes corners flawlessly. Only thing I didn't touch is my rear shock setting I think the positions are 1-8? I don't have a tool for it, or do I even need one? I think it's set at 3 right now. Will this adjustment change how much the rear sags when I sit on it? I'm 6'5 275lbs+ lol and not gonna lie my licence almost touches my tire when i sit down and touches when I go over bumps... I know that's not safe that's why i' m looking for advice on this... any help is much appreciated! thanks in advance!!

It should be set to max preload but its still more weight then the stock spring is made for. The front fork springs are so softly sprung for your weight it worrys me.

A spanner wrench keeps it from getting marked but a hammer and punch work fine.

I weigh about the same and the springs are to soft. My settings are turn the preload
all the way tight front and back and adjust the dampers about 3 turns out from full tight.
If it's to choppy back off on the dampers. Good luck

The tool that you need comes with the bike. As far as knowing where to set it, you have to measure/set the sag.

I would just max the preload on both and go from there with dampening but as was mentioned you would need different springs to be setup properly.
