I just recently got a 2001 Honda CBR600F4i and I read in the manual that it is best to use Honda GN4 or HP4. I want synthetic so I would go with the HP4 if anything but it's so expensive. I was thinking about using royal purple 10w 40 or maybe a full synthetic motorcycle 4 stroke 10w 40 motor oil but I don't know if that would be ok and I want to do everything right on this bike. So I would like to know what you all use and if it really is best to use HP4.

I use Motul 5100.

This topic has been beaten to death a number of times so if you search any brand of oil you will get hundreds of debates on which oil to use.

 

I use rotella t6 synthetic

Any motorcycle oil formulated for wet clutches will be fine.

 

I'm with ^, Rotella is cheap and it's extremely good oil, can't go wrong.

 

Rotella T6, I run that crap in everything

 

I use Castrol 4T 10w-40 with a Bosch D3300 filter. No problems and cheap, $13.49 for a 4.2 qt jug.

 

I use fryer grease. The deisel guys have great luck with it so why not?
