Default What do you guys use to lock your F4i?

Is there a reliable lock like a disc lock that anyone recommends?

I bought On Guard disk lock since I read Kryptonite had key recall and On Guard had a better price.

Anyone uses alarm of any kind?

I know nothing is 100% safe but can't leave the bike unlocked so that someone can lift and roll it away!!

I use the OnGuard rotor lock. I live in the ghetto, so I get a little worried about it.

I got some from wal-mart that are made for like lockers and put them in the discs. They will do what any $80 lock will. It dont matter though you have to remember that your bike only weighs like 425 lbs. Full coverage or lo-jack are the only way for sure

they have disc locks with motion sensors in them that act as a alarm/reminder so you dont ride of with it. so atleast if someone tries to pick it up itll bring attention to them. dont remember the brand name but it should be easy to find.

I think it's by Xena. I guess I have so many options here. Not sure if I want to buy alarm unless it's as good as car alarm.

im not sure about this one but i heard theres a two way alarm where like if the alarm on the bike gets set off the lil remote thing you carry goes off and lets you know the alarm has been set. if that is true thatd be a good thing to get.

I have a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit chain with the shackle, a Motrax chain and shackle similar to the Fahgettaboudit. Both are great. I just moved to a new city in an old apartment with no garage, carport, or fixed object nearby that I can chain to. I'm thinking of installing a home-made floor anchor into the concrete piling in my parking spot. But in the short term, I'm going to order one of the Xena Alarm Disc locks, a "cheap" and really kick *** alternative to any *decent* alarm-only system, not to mention the fancy $400 job from Scorpio...

This FAQ sold me on the Xena's

also, cover your bike, whether it be a piece of tarp or a nice Dowco Guardian, if it's a little hidden then it's less of a target.

I'm using a Xena audible disk lock when I have to park my bike @ the mall or at work, where it's not in four walls.

I have a Scorpio alarm system that I recently installed. I also use a thick guage chain and anchor at home too. It's also good practice, IMO, to have the forks locked and the kill switch on STOP.

That sounds pretty good. I'll check out Xena if I can find it in local stores. Like to hear the sound and how much false alert I may end up doing it myself.

Definately check it out. They're worth it. And w/ the audible feature, if you forget to remove it and the bike is angled up or pushed, it goes off. I know it's saved my fender and plastics a few times.
