Default What do you guys shift at?
For normal everyday riding when do you guys usually shift.. and what gear do you typically ride around in when going 40-45mph?

That all depends on how loud I want to be. Just for around town cruising it between 5-6k. For just riding on a long stretch of road at 45mph I would be in fourth gear. For riding in town at 45 I would be in 3rd gear for reaction purposes ( quicker throttle response in a emergency situation).

i tend to ride higher in the revs so i have get up and go when i want it, don't care much about noise...that being said, usually cruise at 6-8 and shift higher, but it's all personal preference

I was wondering the same thing actually... I'm used to driving in a car so I've been riding around 2-3k rpms guess i should kick it up a notch

The moment my front tire passes theirs

Anywhere from 5k to 12k... depends on mood. 5k to cruise, 8k for an on ramp, 12k to fight the dragons

riding too low in the revs is not good for the bike so definitely above the 2-3k mark

Normal driving for me I shift around 5 grand. Riding down the strip I stay in 4th or 5th gear sometimes even 6th.

depends if I'm trying to get 30mpg or 45mpg.
