well I know CA spec vs the rest of the US, the CA has a catalytic converter all years where the other got a CAT some time later on. Also, I think CA is the only one to have a EVAP canister

CA bikes have the evap canister & emissions garb. That's why buyers in CA want a "49-state bike". ;-)

Uk spec as in "euro" spec? I'm trying to figure out what else uk spec would mean. The euro F's look different too. They were called the f sport with the stepped seat and f4 with the nana seat.. Stripes and colors were dirpfferent too, and euro models had a center stand.

As far as I know, the Euro versions do not have anything different motor/exhaust-wise than a typical 49-state bike here. The CA emissions are different in that they have the EVAP container. All years F4i CA models and ALL 2006 F4i has catalytic converters.

The only major differences to the UK/Euro versions are styling. They're called something different, and sometimes an early year F4i (or F-Sport / F1) may have the banana seat. There aren't many UK F4i's since they were discontinued when the 600RR was released.

Yep, my 01 is a california bike w/ cat, o2 sensor, and evap canister. I don't have a problem w/ it as long as it doesn't give me any trouble.

Is there any reason to? I read, on here I think, that pulling all of it off could cause a drop in gas mileage.
