yeah when i had my f4i i always wondered what the hell that was, i could always see it when i looked into my tank but i never had any problems so i ignored it and just assumed it was normal. I guess that solves that mystery for me too.

Great thread guys, I was freaked out when I saw that thing in there! Can someone be more specific on exactly which hole it's supposed to cover when it goes back in?

 

just took mine out to get painted last night. mine was held together nicely, wasn't unraveled like the one if the first post

16714-MBG-000 its a $6.75 brillo pad, i thought the same thing when i pulled mine out.
