Default What am I looking at?

Looking at picking up a 600rr when I came across This. After 2 minutes of research I see that this is a 2001 f4i sport? He says it's a 99 but f4i didn't come out till 01 I think. And unless these are all new fairings I don't think it's a 99 f4.
plus this looks lowered. I think it looks dope but im not knowledgeable about modifications like that. Is that normal to do/safe? I'll end up asking for the vin once I contact him but I was just trying to get a grasp of what I'm looking at here before I get ripped off. Thanks.

It is hard to say for sure. VIN will certainly be helpful. If it's a 1999, then it's an F4, but looks like it has a 600RR swingarm. If you're looking for something you'll have to explore and figure out all the time since there are so many modifications, then have fun. That price is about double what I'd be willing to pay for a project bike.

IDoDirt, you're reply makes me think you can see a picture or there is a link to pictures. Am I missing something on my side?

@Scott91370 In his original post, the word "This" includes a hyperlink to the Craigslist ad.

It's still there - now that you say where I hovered over it. When I tried before I must have been going to fast and didn't see the cursor change.

So that appears to be an F4i with an RR swing arm and rear seat area but with the support parts of the F4i in place.
One thing I do not see is the VIN plate which, if it is a 2001, should be on the left hand side of the frame about where the white strip of the fairing goes from the body work to the gas tank. You can see mine here.

Let us know if he provides the VIN number. I suspect he won't. If you post it here we can tell you exactly what it is.
