You really should download the manuals for your bike. It contains the nitrogen gas for your rear gas shock. The hard soft settings is your dampner adjusters for the rear suspension.

Compression dampening...or is it rebound?

Regardless it has to do with your rear suspension and making it softer or firmer

Without it your bike would bounce up and down like Tigger.

p.s. Don't throw it in the fire!

ok, perfect!

so, what is the recommended adjustment method? does it have to be adjusted alongside the spring. i know there's black dial at the bottom of the yellow spring

i'm looking to adjust the bike to be a little more harder, since my plates are getting bent by it touching the tire at times, after installing an under tail and moving the plate along the middle. i've attached a pic to show where my plate is mounted.

is it normal for plate to touch the tire on bumps? if so, would adjusting the spring and/or the canister help? every time i seen it get bent, i never had a passenger. having said that, it would be worse with a passenger on ?!?!!!??

thanks.

It is perfectly normal to bend the license plate when you have it mounted to low. lol

Don't adjust your suspension because of your license plate. Just move the damn plate.

Here is a helpful video. Look for the one about Setting Sag. It covers more than that.
