Well... I finally wrecked.
I finally got mine... im ok.. got a freaking awesome scar on my forearm by bike is a little rashed up. I was riding on a road that had just been tar/chipped and the back end caught some loose stone that wasn't stuck down really well and i low-sided going about 25. The damage is repairable. I was wondering if anybody knows a place better than Ebay for aftermarket fairings? I had the 7stars replica plastics from china that looked amazing but were pretty crappy.

What gear were you wearing?
|
gloves, boots, helmet. it was over 100 degrees out when i wrecked and my jacket isn't very breathable. my helmet didn't even touch the ground actually
|
Sorry to hear you crashed. The China fairings are kinda crappy. But if you are a bit handy with a spray gun you can give them a clear coat with hardener and it helps to keep the scratches down.
Where the heck are you located that it's 100F out? The ballistic nylon jackets are breathable and with a few pieces of armor will protect most of your vitals in a crash. |
I wrecked at the end of last season. This is my first post of the year.. I haven't had internet at my house in a while. I'd really like to at least look at some other sources of 7star replica fairings.. those chinese ones looked fantastic but they were brittle and flimsy as ****. Even if i gotta pay out an extra $100 it would be worth it for better mounting tabs.

Well i dont have any of the tools to spray clear coat.. would it be expensive to have a painter do it? i'm not trying to spend TOO much because Im going ot have to sell her soon.

Sorry about your crash. Glad you're reasonably ok.
RE clearcoat: They make some reasonably good rattle can clear coat sprays these days. Unless you want super duper professional work, the rattle cans can actually be ok. Good luck. |
You can get some excellent 2 stage clears in a rattlecan. Check out Sherwinn Williams auto paint

Can't help you with the plastics, but I can recommend this:
http://www.newenough.com/protective_...le_jacket.html After my first crash wearing shorts, cut-off tee, running shoes, helmet and gloves I also got a scar on my forearm. Ordered this jacket, mesh pants, and A* boots that night. The jacket's been though 2 crashes since and still looks great. And it breathes awesome. |
