Default RE: bike finally arrived. some questions..

today i did the pair valve mod, bypass the evap canister and throw this piece of junk away.
i'd like to ask when you do the pair valve mod do you throw away the solenoid itself or do you leave it hanging around?

some pics:
pair removal

you can look at the fairings and estimate how much work is done on them. a lot of pieces were missing, a lot of mounting points absent, a lot of sculpting, creating, repairing and reinforcing
upper fairing in progress. lower part

upper fairing upper part.

tail section

gel sculpting of the damaged headlight(unpolished)

hell no, it has happened within the thousand miles it was owned by previous owner. i was confident that i'm going to repaint and mod it a lot, it's a salvage title bike, i knew it when i bought it on copart.com, but the copart photos didn't show all the truth about the state, there were some unpleasant surprises, but nothing that russian hands can't fix and repair for some money.

haha gotta love Ukraine. Reminds me of the movie Eastern Promises. You should ride the bike to Kiev and take some pics when its all finished.

so this has probably already been stated but I just unattached my o2 sensor a while back when I changed my pipe. You can buy some eliminator thing somewhere it's been a while. It didn't ruin anything in regards to my bike. . . at least that I know of. . . heh.

bluej511, don't quite remember, but i think i've seen it. i was in kyiv at the previous week-end at the bike exposhow 2008

i didn't order the new plastics more in sake of the time , cause it would be shipped three weeks more and even in this way it would be much more expensive(oem. not the cheap china ones) than to pay for repairs.

i installed the vortex sliders, cut the plastics, cut the stock undertray to fit the undertail, made holes for the hugger. the front and back hugger and the grab bar were painted black pearl, the fuel tank , side fairings and the undertail will be painted together , hope to mask out the vinyl profiles in friday and and such stuff. hope to test out my new bike tuesday-wednesday!

marked the slider spot with laser pointer

the tail plastic being modelled and the misc. plastic piece to fix it.

i drill the fairing

white layer - first of three paint layers

the fuel tank fixed and painted white

sanded down the stator cover, prepaing for painting

huggers are painted black, not polished, matted, without the pearl fire bits(will be sprayed in clearcoat)
