Trunk key lock
how do i remove it. i cant seem to get the clip out.

I used a small screwdriver to kind of lift the 2 parts of the clip that are actually holding the lock in. If you look at the tab you will see the two parts that are bent toward the cable end of the cylinder, if you lift those away from the cylinder you can slide the clip back and take it off.

Looks like you got it while I was writing this post. I'll go ahead & post the info & pics in case anyone else needs it...
There's two types of clips...one that is u-shaped & open at end. I suspect you don't have this type. The other completely enclosed like a big square washer. The clips are made of very pliable metal. This works to your advantage if you have to bend it a little to get the lock out. Directions below should work for either... Remove lock's cable numb (the end of the cable) from lock itself. The lock mechanism has grooves/narrow channels on opposing sides at the base (key end) that hold the clip in place to secure the lock in the battery tray. What you want to do w/ the clip is to take a screwdriver & pry the two tabs on either side, away from those channels, then lift the clip up & off the lock. Now, the lock will come right out. They say a pic is worth a thousand words. So here ya go...
